We've moved!
Science for Everyone is still at scienceforeveryone.science, but no longer on Substack
If you’re reading this, that means you’re looking at the archived site of Science for Everyone and there is no new content here. We’ve left Substack for Ghost.
As always, we are available at the link ScienceForEveryone.science. Please head on over and subscribe! As always, subscription is entirely at no cost and always will be.
If you were a subscriber of before 04 August 2025, then your subscription got moved over to our new platform so seamlessly you might not have noticed the change. You’ll still be getting our emails, and paying subscribers have their subscription moved over just as seamlessly (through the payment service Stripe). If you are concerned that you’re not getting it, just head on over. And just read.
You should find it easier to comment on my new site and I think it’s smoother in a vareity of ways. But the main reason I moved is that Substack has a rotten infestation of actual Nazis, and the owners are overjoyed about it. This platform is actively pushing hateful content, and the people running it are profiting off it. I decided I could not longer be a part because it’s pervading the site in a lot of ways. For example, the “top science newsletters” on Substack are full of anti-vaxers, transphobic psuedoscience, actual scientific racists claiming white superiority, climate deniers, and so on. It’s really bad! Also there are even more popular newsletters about science but substack isn’t promoting them like the ones trying to “debunk woke joke universities” or whatever. It’s wild. Sorry, I’m outta here.
You might note that there are a lot of good scientists and science communicators still on here. I understand that everybody has different thresholds for coexisting with fascism, and I get why some folks are staying. I think there’s a lot of merit to the idea that providing actual science in the midst of anti-science garbage is a valuable public service. Also, a lot of folks are making a living by running a newsletter on substack. I think the business model can work just as well elsewhere but I get how this ecosystem helps discoverability, that’s why I came in the first place. But I’m banking on Ghost taking an upswing and am sick of the fascists on Substack.
Anyhow, see you at the new digs!
